Bathroom Remodeling 101
Most bathroom remodeling projects do not allow for expansion of the footprint
and we must confine our efforts to the existing spaces. This
bathroom suffered major smoke damage and subsequent winter exposure resulting in a mess of soot, broken pipes and fixtures.
It was desperately in need of some work. The
first step was to tear out everything down to the framing and start with a clean slate. We wanted to make the rather small space seem much larger so we chose to expose as much of the new ceramic
tile floor as possible. A traditional vanity was overlooked
in favor of furniture type vanities with a connecting vanity drop down top in between. We
wanted to acheive a mark of elegance so we employed a rope
tile along with a cultured tumbled stone chair rail to cap off the over-sized wall tile.
